
MSC IN ACCOUNTING & FINANCE (ADVANCED ENTRY)
Overview
​
The MSc in Accounting and Finance qualification is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in the financial services industry, professional accountancy, banking and finance or management. With this qualification, students are able to demonstrate that they are equipped with the essential skills and knowledge needed to pursue high level careers in all types of organisations in the public and private sector and within industry and commerce, both in the UK and abroad.

Entry requirements​

Any prior postgraduate qualification or work experience equivalent to a Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification. We will review your application and advise accordingly. Learn more about recognition of prior learning here​.

An honours degree in a related subject or UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification OR mature learners with extensive management experience.

Minimum of 2 years’ work experience at graduate level, in either a managerial or professional capacity which may include voluntary work, placements, internships, project management etc.

Learners must be 21 years or older at the beginning of the course

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.

The qualification may be completed over a minimum period of 6 months using a blended learning approach. Students will typically complete in 9 months.

Qualification structure

Stage 1: Business Research Methods (20 credits): The aim of this unit is to develop learners’ understanding of research principles including the formulation of research proposals, literature reviews, referencing, data collection using interviews and surveys, questionnaire design, statistical analysing using SPSS, qualitative data, and methods for drawing conclusions from the analysed data. You will evidence this by producing a ‘Research Proposal’ of 2500 words. The Business Research Methods module could be completed in 8 -12 weeks.

Stage 2: Consultancy Project (60 credits) : The module provides the opportunity for you to examine an area of particular interest within an appropriate organisational context. The module is designed to make a major contribution to your professional and intellectual development, through enabling you to demonstrate your capacity for sustained independent thought, learning and critical reflection. The purpose of this module is to deliver a practical and realistic solution to a business-related strategic challenge, which in turn is supported by appropriate reference to theoretical and conceptual analysis. You will evidence this by producing a ‘Consultancy Project Report’ of 12,000 words. The Consultancy Project Report is delivered and assessed by our UK based academic partner, London Graduate School, using their virtual learning platform and direct support from your allocated supervisor. The Consultancy Project module could be completed in one academic term of 15 weeks and commences in May, September and January for the March, July and November intake dates respectively.

From 1st May 2022 London Graduate School will be moving from University of Chichester awarded degrees to a London based University which will be announced once the partnership with University of Chichester is officially ended.
